Archimedes once wrote,
"Give me a LEVER and a PLACE TO STAND,
and I can move the world."
He was referring to a physics principle of simple machines, forces, and vectors. But we can learn from his philosophy as well as from his physics. STEM in Iowa needs a LEVER and a PLACE TO STAND in order to move our world. I see the Governor's STEM initiative as the LEVER we have been looking for. Now, where do we stand?
