Archimedes..physicist and philosopher

Archimedes once wrote,
"Give me a LEVER and a PLACE TO STAND,
and I can move the world."
He was referring to a physics principle of simple machines, forces, and vectors.  But we can learn from his philosophy as well as from his physics.  STEM in Iowa needs a LEVER and a PLACE TO STAND in order to move our world.  I see the Governor's STEM initiative as the LEVER we have been looking for.
Now, where do we stand?

Board Brainstorming

During the first meeting of the NW Iowa STEM Regional Advisory Board, we did some brainstorming.  We discussed, from our various perspectives, areas of expertise, professional background and personal interests our dream for STEM in Iowa.  This "wordle" represents the sum total of our conversation.  Now, we just need to make it happen for Northwest Iowa.
