What is on the menu?


The table is set.  The menu is prepared.  It is time to order up your favorite science, technology, engineering or math program from the Iowa Governor’s STEM Initiative buffet of opportunities!  And the best part? The tab has already been covered. 

On August 14th, the application site for grant funded STEM programming became active.  Any person in Iowa interested in bringing high quality STEM programming to kids--educators, community members, scout leaders and STEM professionals--may apply to be a part of this landmark initiative.  The timeline for implementation is aggressive—application deadline for the first round of scale up is September 14th.

So, what is on the MENU??

If you like critical thinking, problem solving, robots and a little friendly competition, try the deliciously exciting FIRST Tech Challenge or FIRST Lego League.  Whet your appetite for investigation by learning how to help kids enter the Iowa State Science andTechnology Fair Hyperstream is on the menu as well, offering an eclectic mix of personalized STEM opportunities to fill hungry minds. 

Or, maybe you want to spice up your science or math classroom?  A World in Motion, KidWind and Engineering is Elementary will provide the main course in the form of hands-on, highly engaging STEM activities.
